Die IHO stellt die Weichen für den neuen Geoinformationsstandard S-100

Die IHO-Arbeitsgruppe »Worldwide ENC Database Working Group« (WENDWG) tagte im Februar 2023. Im Fokus der Arbeiten für dieses Jahrzehnt steht die Umstellung auf den neuen Datenstandard S-100. Damit die Umstellung in Bezug auf ECDIS reibungslos vonstatten geht, werden in einer Übergangszeit sowohl das alte S-57 als auch das neue S-100 parallel betrieben – man setzt auf das sogenannte Dual-Fuel-Konzept und auf die WEND-Prinzipien.

The IHO Worldwide ENC Database Working Group (WENDWG) met in February 2023. The focus of the work for this decade is the changeover to the new S-100 data standard. To ensure that the changeover goes smoothly with regard to ECDIS, both the old S-57 and the new S-100 will be operated in parallel during a transition period – the so-called dual-fuel concept and the WEND principles are relied on.
