Jennifer Jencks is a physical scientist at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information in Boulder, Colorado. She is the director of the IHO Data Centre for Digital Bathymetry (DCDB) and she is chair of the IHO Crowdsourced Bathymetry Working Group (CSB¬WG). In this interview, she talks about the opportunities of crowdsourced bathymetry (CSB), the importance of metadata and how people can be motivated to volunteer to collect depth data.
