Internationale Zusammenarbeit in der Hydrographie ist das Thema des Buches, das zum Jubiläum der IHO erschienen ist
Am 21. Juni 1921 wurde das International Hydrographic Bureau (IHB) in Monaco gegründet, der Vorgänger der heutigen International Hydrographic Organization (IHO). Aus diesem Anlass erschien in der letzten Ausgabe dieser Zeitschrift bereits der Artikel von Prof. Dr. Peter Ehlers mit seiner Rede, die er im November 2020 als Jubiläumsansprache auf der zweiten Assembly der IHO hätte halten sollen, wenn die Pandemie nicht wäre. Nun soll es, ebenfalls im Jubiläumsjahr, einen Hinweis auf das Buch geben, das von der IHO zu ihrem hundertjährigen Bestehen herausgegeben wurde. Es ist damit ein Rückblick auf die Arbeit der IHO in diesen 100 Jahren und zugleich ein Ausblick auf die kommende Zeit und ihre Herausforderungen.
On June 21, 1921, the International Hydrographic Bureau (IHB) was founded in Monaco, the predecessor of today’s International Hydrographic Organization (IHO). On this occasion, the last issue of this journal already published the article by Prof. Dr. Peter Ehlers with his speech, which he should have held in November 2020 as an anniversary address at the second assembly of the IHO, if it were not for the pandemic. Now, also in the anniversary year, there is to be a reference to the book published by the IHO on the occasion of its centenary. It is thus a retrospective of the work of the IHO during these 100 years and at the same time an outlook on the coming period and its challenges.
